The central administration of IIT, Bhubaneswar (IIT-B) has been shifted from Toshali Bhawan here to its permanent campus at Argul on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra on Saturday.

BHUBANESWAR: The central administration of IIT, Bhubaneswar (IIT-B) has been shifted from Toshali Bhawan here to its permanent campus at Argul on the auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra on Saturday.  
The institute will now be made fully operational at its green, inspiring and lustrous campus. The institute started its first operation from the campus on July 18, 2015 in a record time of three months while the campus was fully developed in three years.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Prof RV Raja Kumar termed it as sheer accomplishment and said the campus could be shifted from a non-habitable place to an inspiring campus within a short period.
He thanked Ministry of Human Resources Development for granting adequate fund to the tune of `850 crore for Phase-2 construction and the State Government for all-round support in growth of the institute.

The infrastructure comprised new state-of-the-art hostels, lecture hall complex, new schools, adequate staff and faculty quarters, a Central research facility, a 1500-seat auditorium and expansion of existing school buildings with modern architecture and facilities.

The Director sounded very confident in stating that the institute, which improved its national rank in several ranking frameworks like NIRF, is moving forward in all directions towards attaining world class status in near future. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to dedicate the buildings soon.
