BHUBANESWAR:Additional Chief Secretary in Forest and Environment Department Suresh Mohapatra urged industrial houses to become more responsible and careful while using natural resources of the State.
“Odisha has a special climate change action plan and every department shares some percent from the annual budget to mitigate its adverse effect. Industrial houses need to be more responsible towards environment and bio-diversity of the State,” he said at a conference organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in association with Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB).

Mohapatra said Odisha’s one third area is under forest cover. Despite industrial and mining activities green cover here continues to rise. It has increased substantially during the last 15 years and Odisha is one of the greenest States of the country, he said.
