‘Form core group of CBSE schools’

BHUBANESWAR:Union secretary, School Education and Literacy, Anil Swarup on Monday directed the CBSE regional officer (RO) here to form a core group of private schools that come under the Board to allow them to firmly place their grievances and suggestions before the Board authorities.

“Form a core group. Let that group recommend the suggestions within a month,” Swarup instructed the CBSE RO, T Mate, while addressing the Principals’ meet at SAI International School here. He advised the CBSE RO to be the convener of the group. He also proposed that both private and public schools should come together to solve the problem of education. Both need to work in tandem, he added.

The Union Secretary encouraged the Principals to identify, appreciate and replicate good work as well as make models of them and spread the stories of goodness.   

He said in the Centre has taken many steps order to improve education system including setting up the Diksha Portal which provides teachers an opportunity to share the videos and photographs of their good work which can motivate and benefit others.

State School and Mass Education Secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra also spoke about reforms brought in the education sector by the State Government. He highlighted that the Government has decided to recruit teachers on merit basis and not just on mark basis.The Union Secretary suggested that there should be a test like SAT or CAT for recruitment of teachers.
