BHUBANESWAR : Senior haematologist Professor RK Jena has been appointed as the President of Indian Society of Haematology (ISH), the apex body of haematologists in the country.
Prof Jena assumed charge as the President during the 59th Annual Conference of the ISH at Kochi on October 26. With specialisation in Bone Marrow Transpant, he was instrumental in setting up of Eastern India’s first bone marrow transplant unit in a Government hospital at SCBMCH. Prof Jena is also a member of the American Society of Haematology and European Haematology Association.
