Sleuths scan Sivaganga murder spot

CB-CID sleuths commenced their investigation into the murder of AIADMK functionary M G Kadiresan, his son and driver by unidentified gang, here on Friday.

CB-CID Deputy Inspector General of Police C Sridhar, along with the other senior police officials, inspected the incident spot and collected documents related to the case from the local police.

“We have commenced the investigation on Friday itself,” Sridhar, the DIG, CB-CID told Express.

Meanwhile, CPI MLA S Gunasekaran, who has been booked in the case with 31 others, told reporters that he would extend cooperation with the police to arrest the culprits.

AIADMK district student’s wing secretary M G Kadiresan (45), his son Prasana (12), daughter Nikila (7) and the car driver Bhoominathan were attacked by a gang while they were returning to Sivaganga after visiting their native village on Wednesday night.  While Kadiresan, his son and driver were killed on the spot, Nikila, who sustained grievous injuries, was admitted to a private hospital.

Based on a complaint from Kadiresan’s brother Ganesh, Sivaganga police registered cases against 32 people, including Sivaganga CPI MLA S Gunasekaran. Though Ganesh, in his complaint, alleged that Gunasekaran might have instigated the murder, the latter denied his charge.
