Police have detained two persons, who were earlier arrested for selling ganja, under Goondas Act here on Sunday.
On October 30, Peelamedu police arrested two persons, S Suresh (38) from Erimedu, Ammankulam in Puliakulam and R Ramesh (37) from Ondipudur, for selling ganja to college students. Cops also seized 11 kg of ganja.
They were arrested thrice for the same offence in the past. As per orders from the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, the duo was detained under the Goondas Act on Sunday. They were now lodged in Coimbatore Central prison. The commissioner warned that those found selling or possessing ganja would be detained under the same act.
