PMK president and MLA GK Mani has moved the Madras High Court challenging a letter dated September 28 this year of the Home department, which stated that there was no threat perception to party founder S Ramadass and his son and former Union Minister Anbumani and hence, the security, hitherto provided to them, had been rightly withdrawn. When the writ petition came up before Justice KK Sasidharan on Monday, Special Government pleader IS Inbadurai contended that there was no political motive or vendetta behind the withdrawal of the security. The allegation that the withdrawal was due to extraneous political consideration was unwarranted, he added.
