Ambur Councillor Arrested

CHENNAI: A panchayat councillor from Ambur, in Vellore district, was arrested in Chennai on Sunday, when police found that he was involved in a series of incidents where he posed as a metro water board official and conned women to loot their gold jewellery. Police said Vijay (29), ward councillor in the Ambu Panchayat Union, was nabbed during a vehicle check along with his accomplice Ganeshan (31), who was the husband of a councillor in the same panchayat union.
