Before producing her before the Magistrate, SP P K Senthil Kumari interrogated Pavithra for over an hour at the Veppankuppam Police Station.

Pavithra reportedly told the police officials that she left home following a difference of opinion between her husband and her.

Pavithra who was reportedly involved in an affair with the deceased Shameel Ahmed, went missing on May 24 and was finally traced living in a working women’s hostel on Saturday night.

When reporters asked Pavithra whether she was in a relationship with Shameel Ahmed, she completely denied it.

“I have been staying in Chennai for the last one month,” she said and refused to speak further.

According to a senior police officer, a day after Pavithra went missing, Pavithra’s husband Palani filed a habeas corpus writ in the Madras High Court.

He added that as per the direction of the magistrate, they would produce Pavithra before the High Court.

Though Ahmed is alleged to have sent her back home on May 27, Pavithra did not return home and travelled to Chennai instead.

During the journey in the train, she met Surendran and managed to get a job in Chennai with help from him.

In the meantime, the Arakkonam Town Police picked Surendran (24), who is studying CA in Chennai and is a native of Dindugal, and his friend Saravanan (23) of Arakkonam for inquiry regarding the case.
