Teen Girl Murders 4-year-old Who Saw Her Stealing Rs 20

Mohana took Durga from her house on pretext of playing, pushes her into a farm well

VILLUPURAM:A 15-year-old girl murdered a four-year-old child after the latter saw the teenager stealing Rs 20 from her house near Kallakurichi on Tuesday.

Durga.jpgSources said the girl Durga, an LKG student, daughter of Venkatesan and Santhana Lakshmi, on Sunday evening was playing with Mohana (15, name changed), a class X student, in Durga’s house. It was then Durga saw Mohana stealing the money and told her (Durga’s) mother.

Santhana Lakshmi scolded Mohana and got the money back. She then informed Mohana’s parents about the theft and they beat her.

On Monday evening, Mohana, after returning from school, took Durga out of her house under the pretext of playing with her.

As Durga did not return home, her parents inquired with Mohana who said she had left Durga at her house around 7 pm.

The family searched for Durga the whole night and was later informed that her body was floating in a nearby farm well.

They fished the body out with the help of villagers and informed the Kachirapalayam police.

The family suspected Mohana as she was the last person to have seen Durga alive.

When questioned, Mohana confessed to the police to have murdered Durga by pushing her into the well.

Police arrested Mohana and are inquiring further with her at the Kachirapalayam police station.
