TIRUVARUR:Two children — a boy aged 13 and a girl aged eight — were found dead and their mother was battling for life in a bathroom locked from the inside, in Mannargudi on Friday morning.
According to police, a milk vendor reached Meenakshi Sundaram’s house on the first floor of a building in Mannargudi on Friday to deliver milk. Meenaskhsi Sundaram has been working as a professor in a government college in Palani. As his wife Benitta (39), a government school teacher who used to buy milk did not come out of the house and the door of the house was kept open, the milk vendor informed the tenants who were residing on the ground floor. As they went into the first floor apartment, they were shocked to see Kavin Mukhil (13) and his sister Tamil Isai (8) dead in the bedroom with injuries on their necks. The tenants informed the police,which broke into the bathroom and found Benitta, struggling for life with her throat slit. She was taken to hospital.
