CHENNAI:Two young men, who tried to make a quick buck by posing as police personnel deployed on helmet enforcement drive, were arrested on Friday while attempting to extort money from a teenager riding without the headgear. Syed Mooza from Srinivasapuram, was proceeding towards Shastri Nagar on Thursday, when the duo chased him. Claiming to be policemen deployed to crack down on those not wearing helmets, they told the youngster to part with Rs 2000 to let him off. A patrol vehicle in the vicinity saw the commotion and rushed to the spot. The conmen repeated their story to the personnel. But their claims fell flat when they could not account for their postings.
