SALEM: A 41-year-old man was on Friday arrested for allegedly raping a mentally-ill girl here. According to Sankagiri police, Rosy 40, name changed), a resident of Vellalapuram near Magudanchavadi has been living with her son and a 21-year-old mentally daughter ever since she parted ways with her husband, a few years ago. Meanwhile, on Tuesday (July 11), while the mentally-ill girl was alone in her home, Chinnakulanthai (41), a nearby resident and an employee of a hotel, allegedly entered her home and raped her. On Friday, noticing her daughter not to be in the best of spirits, Rosy enquired her during which she revealed the incident. Rosy lodged a complaint. Subsequently, a case was registered and the accused Chinnakulanthai arrested and remanded.
