12 Pythons, 3 Cobras Among Slithery Visitors Let Out in Forest After Rescue

KRISHNAGIRI:As many as 12 pythons, 3 cobras, 2 rat snakes and 1 sand boa  rescued from the residential areas in the district were let into the forest on Sunday.

According to Krishnagiri forest ranger Babu, by receiving the calls and hunts by forest officials in the residential areas in Uthangarai, Kaveripattinam, Rajeev Nagar and in Krishnagiri surroundings in past three days said snakes were rescued and on Sunday it was let into the Veppanapalli reserve forest, he said. Babu added, 31 pythons were rescued in October month and on September it is 23. In which, one python rescued in October is 11 foot length and weighs 20 kg, this is the longest one recovered since January of this year, he informed.
