PUDUCHERRY: ‘Dengue Prevention’ awareness campaign was inaugurated by JIPMER Director Dr S C Parija here on Friday in which 750 people including students from various schools and colleges, general public, patients, and staff participated.
Dr. Gautam Roy, Professor, Deptartment of Preventive and Social Medicine explained to the audience regarding early recognition, treatment and prevention.
Dengue virus is primarily transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes.
A special skit by Asiriyar Kalai Kuzhu coordinated by Kalaimamani Pa Murugesan was held during the session.
JIPMER Director Dr S C Parija honoured the Asiriyar Kalai Kuzhu group with certificates and mementos.
The session was telecast live to all Medical Colleges of South India using the National Medical College Network (NMCN) Project through JIPMER Regional Resource Centre.
