PUDUCHERRY: Panchaliammal, mother of Chief Minister N Rangasamy died here on Friday following a brief illness. She was 94. She was admitted to the IGMCRI on Tuesday after she suffered a cardiac arrest. After undergoing treatment, the end came on Friday afternoon following a cardiac arrest. She is survived by her two sons and three daughters, their families. CM Rangasamy is the youngest of her children. The body was taken to the Chief Minister’s residence at Thilaspet where the cabinet colleagues of Rangasamy, legislators, senior officials of the administration and leaders of different political parties are paying homage. The funeral will take place on Saturday at 4 pm at Shanmughampuram cremation ground.
