Congress to Organise Rally against AINRC

PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee would organise a rally by the end of this month to condemn the ‘anti-people‘ policy of the N R Congress government, PCC president A Namasivayam said on Saturday.

Speaking at a function organized to celebrate the 126th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawharlal Nehru at the PCC office here, Namasivayam charged that the “communal” Modi government at the centre is functioning in such a way to conceal the sacrifices of Nehru and the Puducherry government which is in alliance with the BJP is also adopting the same stance.

Namasivayam added that the Bihar election results had given a clear indication that the ploy of dividing people in the name of caste and religion will not succeed.

The BJP government which came to power by giving false promises had tasted defeat in Delhi and Bihar, he said and added that it would meet with the same fate when five more states go to polls in the next four months.

Namasivayam also urged the administration to take immediate steps to provide rain-relief to the affected people and ensure adequate compensation to Puducherry farmers who had lost their crops.
