'Spare Minority Students From Tamil Paper'

VELLORE: State government should issue an order that allows the minority students slated to appear for the Class X board examination next year to opt for their mother tongue as their first language, the Pernambut Consumer Welfare Protection Society has urged. Society president Basheeruddin referred to a recent High Court order, directing the authorities concerned to be liberal with students applying to opt out of learning Tamil.
