IAS officer visits Vellore to analyse situation
VELLORE: A senior IAS officer, representing the Union government, conducted a meeting with district officials to learn the impact of demonetization on Wednesday. T Jacob, Additional Secretary to Government of India, Personnel and Training, held discussion with Collector S A Raman, Superintendent of Police P Pakalavan and bank officials on the impact of demonetization in the district.
The meeting lasted for about 30 minutes at the Collectorate. Speaking to reporters, the Collector said they have briefed the IAS officer of the situation. “We have informed him about the bank account holders, cash withdrawals and law and order situation,” Raman said. He added that the official has expressed hope that the situation would return to normalcy soon.
