MADURAI:The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Friday directed actor Dhanush alias Dhanush K Raja to appear before it on February 28 on a petition filed by him seeking a direction to quash a private complaint given by a couple who claimed him as their son and sought maintenance.

Justice G Chockalingam said that on that date the actor should prove that the identification marks mentioned in the documents submitted by the couple were wrong.
As directed, the petitioner Dhanush submitted a fresh affidavit that the respondents-R Kathiresan and K Meenakshi  of Melur in Madurai, had submitted a Transfer Certificate as if it had been issued by Headmaster of Melur Government Boys Higher Secondary School, where they claimed he pursued schooling. Even the identification marks mentioned in the TC were false. The petitioner did not have marks, including mole on left clavicle bone part and scar on left elbow.
According to  the couple, their son registered his name in the Employment Exchange on June 17, 2002, after completing X standard, and then joined XI. It was not true because the petitioner, at the time had joined the film industry and his first film was released on May 10, 2002. So the court should quash the maintenance petition, he prayed.

Kathiresan (65), in his counter-affidavit, said he could not believe that Dhanush denied about the identification marks, which he and his wife were firm about. Kathiresan further said he suspected that the signature found in ‘Vakalat’ filed along with the petition was not that of Dhanush because it differed from the sample signature which he possessed. The birth certificate submitted by Dhanush was not having either the name or registration number. Dhanush claimed that the certificate was obtained on June 21, 1993, which was 10 years after a date which he claimed to be born, he pointed out.
Moreover, Dhanush claimed that his first film director Kasthuri Raja and his wife Vijayalakshmi were his parents, and also maintained that Kasthuri Raja changed his name only on February 18, 2015, from Krishnamoorthi while he himself changed his name from Vengadesha Prabhu to Dhanush K Raja on December 17, 2003, Kathiresan said adding that it should be false because a document relatedto  the film ‘Thulluvatho Ilamai’ submitted by him says their names were Kasthuri Raja and Dhanush at that  time itself.
