Irked over delay, Pinarayi walks out of event

He grew impatient as the organisers did not bother to host his event though an hour had passed beyond the scheduled start of the programme.

CHENNAI: Irked over the inordinate delay in hosting him at a debate organised by a media group here on Tuesday, a visibly upset Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan walked out without uttering a single word, sources said.

He grew impatient as the organisers did not bother to host his event though an hour had passed beyond the scheduled start of the programme.

Running out of patience and forced to watch the event featuring Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister M Chandrababu Naidu, an annoyed Pinarayi, seated beside Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and DMK working president M K Stalin, got out of the venue.

“Our Chief Minister had a programme at the national conference of All India Bank Employees Association at 12. Since the programme did not begin as scheduled at the meet, he left the venue without speaking,” an official accompanying Pinarayi Vijayan said.
