Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi Palaniswami to chair three-day meet of Collectors, cops from March 5

During the three-day conference, the law and order situation in the State, internal security and progress of various welfare schemes being implemented by the State government will be deliberated.

CHENNAI: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami will chair the three-day conference of district collectors and police officers, commencing on March 5.

The conference is being held after a gap of over four years.  The last meet of Collectors and police officers was held on December 11, 12 and 13, 2013.  

The joint session of Collectors and police officers will be held at the Namakkal Kavignar Maaligai at the Secretariat on March 5. On March 6 and 7, the Chief Minister will preside over the meetings of Collectors and police officers separately.

During the three-day conference, the law and order situation in the State, internal security and  progress of various welfare schemes being implemented by the State government will be deliberated. Since the conference is being held after four years, it is likely to be held both in the mornings and evenings on all three days.

At the end of the deliberations, the Chief Minister is expected to make announcements. Significantly, the conference is being conducted ahead of the State budget for 2018-19. Decisions taken at the conference are likely to reflect in the budget.
