CHENNAI: A total of 25 EB sub staions would be established at the cost of 5,068 crore and 48 lakh across the state, announced Chief Minister Edappadai K Palaniswamy, under rule 110, during the assembly session on Tuesday. Chief Minister Edappadai K Palaniswamy, made array of announcements at assembly under rule 110, on Tuesday.

In which, he said, "An EB sub-station would be established at Samoogarengapuram at Tirunelveli district with the capacity of 400 MW at the cost of Rs 600 crore to bring out electricity generated by windmill and solar power at Aaralvaimozhi area. In order to improve the electricity infrastructure in Chennai district six sub staions would be established at KK Nagar, Ganesh Nagar in Chennai, Avadi and Ennur in Thiruvallur district, Maraimalainagar and Pallavaram in Kancheepuram district, with the capacity of each 230 MW at the cost of 932.78 crore.

250 MW solar power stations would be established at the cost of Rs 1,125 crore at various water resorvoirs across the state. In order to reach 8,884 MW power by solar energy at 2013" Solar Energy policy-2012" would be modificated and " New Energy Policy" would be framed to acheive the goals in energy sector.

Besides, in order to prevent communicable disease in rural areas due to stagnant sewage water, a total of 2.5 lakh community sewage pits would be established across the state at the cost of Rs. 168.94 crore. A total of 5,500 Km length of rural stretchs would be improved at the cost of Rs 1200 crore.

In order to tackle the challenges to maintain the Underground drainage scheme, sewage treatment plant would be established at 49 places at the cost of Rs 217 crore. A length of 1,350 km stretches incorporation and municipalities would be repaired at the cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
