Police officials release photo of suspect accused of attacking P Maniyarasan

The district police released the photo of a youth suspected to be involved in the attack on Tamil nationalist leader P Maniyarasan and appealed to public to inform them if they spot him.

THANJAVUR: The district police released the photo of a youth suspected to be involved in the attack on Tamil nationalist leader P Maniyarasan and appealed to the public to inform them if they spot him. Police released the photo of the suspect taken in an ATM by the camera attached to the machine. Sources said the photo was taken at an ATM in Palliagraharam on the night when Maniyarasan was attacked and his handbag was stolen. Sources added that on the same night a woman walking near R R Nagar was relieved of her bag and the ATM card in her bag was used. As the CCTV camera images from R R Nagar and Vallam One Road, where Maniyarasan was attacked, matched the bike used police looked for use of the ATM card of the woman. It emerged that the card was used Palliagraharam.

The police suspect the youth could be the one involved in the attack on Maniyarasan.
