Tamil Nadu Chief Minister orders release of water from five reservoirs in Tirunelveli district

While the release of water from Kodumudiyar reservoir would benefit 5,781 acres of lands in Nanguneri and Radhapuram taluks.

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday ordered release of water from Kodumudiyar, Gadana, Adavinainaar, Ramanathi and Karuppanathi reservoirs for irrigation in Tirunelveli district for 125 days from June 22 up to October 24.

While the release of water from Kodumudiyar reservoir would benefit 5,781 acres of lands in Nanguneri and Radhapuram taluks, the release of water from the other four reservoirs would benefit 8.225 acres of land in Ambasamudram, Sengottai and Kadayanallur taluks in Tirunelveli district.
