CHENNAI: Reiterating his oft-repeated allegation that more terrorists have infiltrated into Tamil Nadu, Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan on Wednesday said, “The State should act on these forces as firmly as their leader MG Ramachandran did in 1970s. If it fails, it would be a betrayal of MGR.”

Radhakrishnan said, “Naxalites, Maoists, Muslim fundamentalists and Tamil separatists have intruded into many fora. There is a possibility that these forces had intruded into the media too. The people of Tamil Nadu would face huge problems if the government fails to take immediate action.”

A flexible attitude towards terrorists in the past had resulted in the recent developments. Meanwhile, AMMK deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran rubbished the remarks of Pon Radhakrishnan, stating that the present government in State was surviving because of the support of the NDA-led government at the Centre. “If they have evidence about terrorists’ presence here, why can’t they invoke Article 356 and bring in the President’s rule ?”
