CHENNAI: Strongly condemning the first-look posters of the film in which actor Vijay is seen smoking in style, PMK founder S Ramadoss on Saturday urged the Sun Pictures, the producer of the movie, to remove the smoking scenes in the film.

Besides, he also appealed to the actors to play their roles in the films with a sense of social responsibility.
Recalling that a few years ago, actor Vijay and many other actors had promised not to encourage smoking in their films. Actor Rajinikanth, who did not heed the request of the PMK initially, later agreed that indeed smoking caused health hazards.

In 2012, the actor advised his fans to give up smoking.

“Actor Vijay met the families of victims of police firing in Thoothukudi in the midnight and extended assistance to them. Similarly, Sun Pictures is extending assistance to cancer hospitals. These acts really show their social responsibility. If this is true, they should remove the smoking scenes from Sarkar,” Ramadoss added.
