Cheating case: Madurai Commissioner told to execute warrants

Justice Paul Vasanthakumar was appointed to settle the dues to over 12 lakh depositors who had deposited a whopping of Rs 1,137 crore with the firm. 

CHENNAI : A division bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Commissioner of Police in Madurai to ensure the presence of a former Managing Director and a Director of erstwhile Disc Assets Lead India Limited, formerly known as  Disc Agro tech Limited before it on October 31 in connection with a Rs 1,137 crore alleged cheating case.

A bench of Justices M Sathyanarayanan and N Seshasayee gave the directive after going through a report filed by Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, a retired Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, who was appointed by the court as administrator of the company, on October 24.

Justice Paul Vasanthakumar was appointed to settle the dues to over 12 lakh depositors who had deposited a whopping of `1,137 crore with the firm. The bench issued bailable warrant to secure V Janarthanan and N Arun, ex-chairman and director of the company. The Madurai police Commissioner should execute the warrants and ensure their presence before the court.
