Rs 2 Crore for Peddagattu Jatara

HYDERABAD: The state government on Friday released Rs 2.10 crore for the conduct of Peddagattu Jatara to be held in February at Durajpalle village in Nalgonda district.

The amount was released following a request by education minister G Jagadish Reddy. The released funds would be utilised for providing drinking water (Rs 10 lakh), toilets and dressing rooms (Rs 20 lakh), works on the temple (Rs 30 lakh), completion of pending road works around Peddagattu (Rs 30 lakh), constructing of a tankbund (Rs 25 lakh), steps to temple pond (Rs 20 lakh),  shed for kalyanakatta and for pilgrims (Rs 25 lakh), electrification works (Rs 20 lakh), construction of a queue complex (Rs 20 lakh) and for purchasing traditional clothes for yadavas (Rs 10 lakh).

The government asked the officials of endowments, rural water supply, panchayat raj, irrigation and Transco to coordinate and ensure that all arrangements are put in place for the jatara.
