Cabinet Sub-panel on Godavari Pushkarams

HYDERABAD: A Cabinet sub-committee was constituted by the Telangana government on Monday for overseeing arrangements for  Godavari Pushkarams, which will begin in July. The state government issued a GO in this regard.

Housing, law and endowments minister A Indra Karan Reddy will be the chairman of the sub-committee. Roads and buildings, women and child development minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, IT minister KT Rama Rao and irrigation minister T Harish Rao are the members of the committee.

Secretary to government, Revenue (Endowments) department, will be the convener of the Cabinet sub-committee. The sub-committee will plan, implement and oversee the arrangements in close coordination with various departments and agencies concerned for the smooth and peaceful conduct of Pushkarams, the orders said.

The sub-committee can co-opt or invite any other minister, secretary or HoD for its meetings as per the need and requirement.

Meanwhile, chief secretary Rajiv Sharma conducted another review with officials of various departments on monday at the Secretariat on Godavari Pushkarams.

The state government is planning to construct 67 bathing ghats for the convenience of the pilgrims, who throng Telangana from all over the country.
