Common facility for handicrafts in Nirmal soon: Industries Minister

The facility centre will help artisans to sell their products online.

HYDERABAD: A common facility centre will come up in Nirmal for artisans and handicraft makers, Industries minister KT Rama Rao announced on Wednesday. The facility centre will help artisans to sell their products online.

Amazon will also launch its facility centre in Hyderabad by 2019 but the products of artisans like toys, handicrafts, handlooms and other products will be supplied through the Nirmal common facility centre to be launched by the state government.Rao spoke with endowments minister A Indrakaran Reddy and local MLAs from Nirmal district about land acquisition for the facility. “I will provide funds from my constituency funds,” Jupaly said.

Boost for handicraft making

Golconda State handicrafts showroom will be opened in Warangal city. The industries Minister directed the Warangal Corporation officials to allot 1,500 yards of land for the showroom.

Likewise, an exclusive workshop for Muslim women for handicrafts will be opened in Medak town.

The Sishu Sakshema Bhavan in Yellamma Tanda in Rangareddy district will be handed over to Girijan Handicrafts, adding that a training centre for youth to train them on how to make handicrafts would be opened in Hyderabad.
