HYDERABAD: At a time when its government in Andhra Pradesh is being attacked by the opposition parties in that state over non-fulfilment of its promise to create lakhs of jobs for the unemployed youth, the yellow party leaders in Telangana have begun taking an aggressive posture towards the TRS government by raising the same issue in the new state.

TDP’s TS unit on Wednesday demanded a white paper from the TRS government on the job vacancies filled up so far as well as on the construction of double bedroom houses for the poor which are election promises of the pink party.

“Prior to the bifurcation of undivided state, the TRS had repeatedly claimed that lakhs of government jobs would be given to youngsters once the new state was formed. Already, two and a half years have elasped  since Telangana was formed and the government has filled just a few posts,” TDP TS unit spokesman Nannuri Narsi Reddy said.

Addressing mediapersons at NTR Bhavan here, the TDP leader wanted to know why the state government was unable to provide lakhs of government jobs to the unemployed youth as promised.
Another leader and party spokesman, Satish Madiga, alleged that 396 houses for the poor under the double bedroom scheme in IDH Colony in Hyderabad were allotted to fictitious persons and demanded a white paper on the status of double bedroom houses scheme.

Min asks officials to construct 2BHK houses by Dec 2017
Nirmal: Housing minister A Indrakaran Reddy directed officials to complete the construction of double bedroom houses in the erstwhile Adilabad district by next December. The minister held a review meeting with the collectors of  Adilabad, Nirmal, Kumrambheem and Mancherial districts, on Wednesday and asked them to identify lands for the housing scheme. Housing principal secretary Chitra Ramachandran, who was also present at the meeting, said 1,510 houses were sanctioned in Adilabad, 960 in Nirmal, 1,530 in Mancherial and 750 in Kumrambheem under the 2BHK scheme. The government has allocated `218 crore for the project in the district, he added.
