HYDERABAD: Group II examinations were held on Friday, amid chaos and confusion, as aspirants were put to various inconveniences.

While mismatch occurred between question papers and OMR sheets at some centres, even basic facilities like watch and a bell to remind the passage of time to candidates at exam halls were not provided at several centres. As a result, candidates who had been waiting for years, to take the test were disappointed.

“There was a mismatch between the question paper we received and the OMR sheet. As time is very precious we started filling up the OMR sheet and but within five minutes found that, there was a mismatch between the question paper and OMR sheet. When we asked the invigilator and Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) squad, they agreed that there was a mistake but did not give any assurance, as to how they would correct the mistake,” complained a candidate, who wrote examination at TRR High School at Manchal Road, Ibrahimpatnam.

“Due to the mistake done by invigilator we lost 45 minutes in paper-1 exam. We urge TSPSC to look into the issue and give as a solution, as we have dedicated years to take this exam,” urged another candidate.
Same complaints came from Warangal and Nalgonda. Many of these schools and colleges selected for centres were holding competitive examinations for the first time.
While exams for Paper-1 and Paper-2 of Group-II were held on Friday, exams for Paper-3 and Paper-4 will be held on Sunday.

While examination was held in 1,916 centres across state, 5,17,819 candidates appeared for the exam, registering 65.6 per cent turn out. Interestingly, biometric details of candidates were not recorded on Friday due to a network failure and other technical reasons and will be recorded offline on Sunday.
Coming to the mismatch between question booklet number and bar code on OMR sheet, TSPSC officials urged candidates not to worry over mismatch as bar code number on OMR sheet was printed only for the internal purpose of TSPSC. “That was printed as an internal security measure. It is not compulsory that it should match with question paper,” officials said. Despite this, the TSPSC said that a technical committee had been formed to look into the aspect and no student will be dealt with harshly.
Superstar Rajinikanth made a special appearance in Group II question paper. A question appeared in the paper about “My father Balaiah” book reference in the actor’s movie, Kabali.
