Selfie kills again, claims five engineering students lives near Dharmasagar reservoir

WARANGAL: A joy ride turned into a fatal accident for five engineering students studying at Vaagdevi college of Engineering, Bollikunta on the outskirts of Warangal.

The accident occured in Dharmasagar reservoir, which is located about 14 km from the district headquarters, on Saturday. The incident took place when the students were reportedly trying to click selfies while having snacks. They accidently slipped and drowned into the reservoir.

About six third-year students went to Dharmasagar Reservoir for a picnic tour. They have been identified as P Sravya (22), P Veenuthna (22), Srinidhi (21), K Shiva Sai (21) and P Shiva Saikrishna (21). On information, police rushed to the spot and fished out Sravya’s body. After three hours, remaining bodies were retrieved.

Warangal ACP P Shoban Kumar and other police officers supervised the rescue operation. Expert swimmers and fire services department staff helped.
