Congress makes corruption allegations, dares Chief Minister to book cases against them

Leaders allege graft in every govt programme, including Missions Bhagiratha and Kakatiya.

HYDERABAD:  A day after chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s directive to his Cabinet colleagues asking them to initiate action against those, who make baseless allegations against the government, some of the Congress seniors on Saturday dared the Chief Minister to do so.

Taking the lead to ridicule CM’s warnings given to the opposition that his government would not be silent against those we make wild allegations, former minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said there was rampant corruption in every programme implemented by the State government. Then, he threw down the gauntlet to the chief minister to book cases against him.

Addressing mediapersons here, the Congress leader said, “I am now charging this government with resorting to massive corruption in all programmes. Corruption is prevailing in every project and programme implemented by the government right from Mission Bhagiratha and Haritha Haaram to fish farming.

I am ready to face any cases, if my allegations are proved wrong. Hence, the government should first order a probe into the allegations made by me.”

“The chief minister has said his government would register cases on those making corruption allegations against the government. Let him tell which department in his government is free from corruption,” he attacked.

The Congress leader further challenged the government that he was ready to prove corruption in every department. “It is not me but CM KCR we will be sent to jail for his wrongdoings and amassing wealth,” Komatireddy said.

Similarly, former MP Madhu Yashki Goud claimed that earlier ED had given notices to CM’s family for amassing wealth. “ED issued notices to CM’s son and daughter for amassing wealth. Only after receiving ED notices, CM KCR backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation move. Isn’t it true? Let the CM respond,” the Congress leader challenged.

TPCC spokesperson T Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy wanted to know why CM had announced `8,000 per acre to farmers for a period of two crop seasons that too from next year, instead of providing them remunerative price for their agricultural produce. Jagga alleged that the announcement is a prior measure to buy votes.
