Security beefed up in Telangana, Chhattisgarh border areas after Maoist attack

Security was beefed up at Telangana and Chhattishgarh state border areas following the killing of 24 CRPF jawans by Maoists at Chintaguha forest area in Sukuma district of Chhattishgarh on Monday.

KHAMMAM: Security was beefed up at Telangana and Chhattishgarh state border areas following the killing of 24 CRPF jawans by Maoists at Chintaguha forest area in Sukuma district of Chhattishgarh on Monday. The incident place is 80 km from Cherla village of TS.

Additional Greyhounds and CRPF forces have been deployed in the Agency, border areas and combing operation has been launched. Security forces have sealed the border of Chhattishgarh and TS suspecting Maoists will enter TS after the incident.

All police stations located in the border areas have been alerted. According to information, Greyhound forces entered into the forest areas and moved towards Sukuma district.

Meanwhile, local police launched vehicle check and took suspected persons into custody for questioning.

Local police officials received instructions from top officials to hunt for Maoists, who participated in the incident.
