HYDERABAD: As social media is playing an active role in moulding people’s opinion, the Congress has decided to appoint 50,000 social media coordinators from booth-level to the state-level. The party also decided to form WhatsApp groups in all 31,656 polling booths across the State.

In accordance with AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s directive, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy asked his party leaders to ensure that party units in each mandal and district across the State become active on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube henceforth.

“All the 50,000 social media coordinators, who are being appointed, should use social media appropriately to expose TRS government’s failure. While addressing the party leaders in the meeting, Uttam directed the party workers to get ready for next Panchayat elections.

He said that the coming Panchayat elections in the State would be highly crucial for the party as they precede the general elections. “All Congress workers and leaders should actively work to strengthen the party at booth-level as Panchayat polls are very crucial for our party’s electoral future,” the TPCC chief said.

Uttam also asked Congress leaders to visit market yards in their districts to check whether farmers were being paid Minimum Support Price and remunerative prices for their produce.
