Electoral roll revision in 36 TS constituencies

Cleaning up of voters list has been taken up as defects are reported in Assembly segments 

HYDERABAD: The Chief Electoral Officer has decided to clean up the electoral rolls in as many as 36 Assembly segments, including all the Assembly segments in Hyderabad, and also in 24 municipalities. The public are requested to delete or add their names in the voters’ list before December 31. The cleaning up of voters list has been taken up as defects are reported mostly in these segments and municipalities.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, incharge Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anoop Singh said that the cleaning up of electoral rolls would also be taken up in all the segments across the State in due course. 
As part of the rectification of defects, the staff would conduct a door-to-door survey in all the 36 Assembly and 24 Municipalities. The receipt of claims and objections will be received till December 31.

Special campaign dates are December 17 and December 24. Disposal of claims and objections will be done on January 10 and rolls would be updated by January 13, 2018. Publication of final rolls after rectification will be done on January 20. Recently, a survey was done in the state for electoral rolls.
