Six-year-old girl raped, murdered in Medak dist

MEDAK: In a shocking incident, a 6-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered  and her body was found shoved in a water pipeline at Muthireddypally village in Manoharabad mandal  in the district.Though the incident took place on Wednesday,  it came to light on Thursday morning. According to Manoharabad police circle inspector G Lingeshwar Rao, the girl is the daughter of a factory worker who had migrated from Bihar to the village.  The accused, Dhanraj Bar alias Rahul, hails from Uttar Pradesh and is the neighbour of the girl’s family.

On Wednesday afternoon, Dhanraj Bar went to the girl’s school. Luring her that he would buy her sweets at a nearby shop, Dhanraj took the girl along with him. The girl’s brother, who also studies at the same school, saw her go with Dhanraj.As the girl did not return home till late in the evening, her father, basing on the information given by his son, confronted Dhanraj but the latter evaded a reply. Meanwhile, villagers came to know about the missing girl and turned Dhanraj over to the police.

During interrogation, Dhanraj initially denied taking the girl from the school but later confessed to his crime. Based on his confession, police recovered the girl’s body which was shoved into a water pipeline in the village.  Dhanraj told the police that the girl had died of suffocation as he gagged her mouth tightly. Police registered a case and are investigating.
