HYDERABAD: Ten families residing at Azampura, Malakpet found themselves removed from the voter’s list on Thursday. The families on Thursday, all residing in one street, found that their houses have been delisted from the voter list being compiled by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
Officials assured that the residents need not worry as they have time until December 31 to get themselves enrolled on the voter’s list.

“How can it be that they miss out ten houses?” questioned Mohammad Irfan, a resident of Amazpura whose family has 16 voters. “My house is never locked. I have over 16 family members. It’s clear they have not visited the house,” he added.Not knowing whom to approach or how to bring this issue to the notice of the authorities concerned, Irfan took to social media reaching out to IT minister KT Rama Rao and Asaduddin Owaisi, Member of Parliment but received no response.

“There are four votes in my family but we have been cut out of the electoral rolls,” said P Stanly, a junior assistant, Agarwal junior college. “There is no need to worry. The claims and objections will be accepted till December 31,” assured V Vijaya Bhasker Kumar, deputy commissioner (GHMC), Malakpet.
“Only the draft was released. There will surely be some corrections. We will be holding a special campaign for voter list updation on December 17 at respective polling booths. People can go verify their details and if they are missing from the list, can get themselves added to the voter list,” added the official.
