Telangana CM to set up Sainik welfare fund

HYDERABAD: Reiterating his government’s commitment to the welfare of retired Army personnel, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has announced that the Telangana government is setting up a large fund for Sainik welfare.

He made the announcement when retired Army personnel in the state met him at Pragathi Bhavan here on Friday and expressed their gratitude to him for initiating several measures for the welfare of Army personnel.

The retired Army personnel said that in the past no chief minister had bothered even to give them an appointment or listen to their problems. Rao was the only chief minister in the country who was thinking about Sainik welfare, they said.

The delegation consisted of Parliament member Capt (Retd) Laxmikanth Rao, Telangana State Sainik Welfare director Col (Retd) Ramesh Kumar, and retired Army personnel Suresh Reddy, Jagan Reddy, Pochaiah, Francis, Prabhakar Rao, Manohar Reddy and others.
