Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee seeks colleges’ proof for overcharging fees

Telangana State Council of Higher Education has issued a set of guidelines that restrict private colleges from collecting excess fee for management quota seats.

HYDERABAD: Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) has clarified that complainants will now have to give proof if they want action against private engineering colleges on grounds that they are overcharging for management quota or are not following admission on merit-basis.

In a statement issued by the TAFRC on Saturday, it stated, “Unless there are specific complaints from students and /or parents in this matter supported by authentic material, it would be difficult to take any action by the authorities concerned.”

It may be noted that the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has issued a set of guidelines that restrict private colleges from collecting excess fee for management quota seats. A uniform fee structure for all seats is expected to end exploitation by private colleges.
