HMDA brings down illegal infrastructures

The Enforcement wing of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority demolished Cement Concrete (CC) and bitumen (BT) roads, medians, rotaries and other such illegal constuctions.

HYDERABAD: The Enforcement wing of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) demolished Cement Concrete (CC) and bitumen (BT) roads, medians, rotaries and other such constuctions that were said to be built illegally by Pride India Developers at Devathala Gutta near Balapur on Tuesday.
As many as 100 villas have been constructed illegally by the developer against the Urban Land Ceiling rules without HMDA’s permission. The villas were not demolished.

Enforcement team along with a team of policemen, officials from Badangpet Nagar Panchayat descended at the site and started demolishing the BT and CC roads, medians, rotaries and the like, when some persons tried to obstruct the demolitions, they were taken into preventive custody.

HMDA officials told Express that the developer did not take permission from the HMDA, and when the authority slapped notices against the illegal constructions, the developer approached the High Court and managed to secure the staus quo in August 2015. The developer’s property was left untouched.
However, instead of maintaining the status quo, the developer went ahead with the illegal construction and built nearly 100 villas at the site. The land falls well under ULC, the developers claimed.
