Political hullabaloo over Baahubali reaches peak in Telangana

Leaders of all opposition parties continue to debate on who is the real ‘Bahubali’ of Telangana to take on CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.

HYDERABAD/WARANGAL:Leaders of all opposition parties continue to debate on who is the real ‘Bahubali’ (macho man) of Telangana to take on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who appears to be invincible for them.

The parties, which have been using the Tollywood blockbuster ‘Bahubali’ movie, in which a macho man is the protagonist, as an allegorical phrase to predict who can challenge the supremacy of the TRS boss and Chief Minister KCR from the opposition side, have intensified their high-decibel hullabaloo on this issue ahead of the release of the Bahubali-2 film.

With none other than Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy initiating the debate saying that soon a Bahubali will emerge from the Congress to finish the ruling TRS, another Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Monday joined chorus with the Leader of the Opposition and said those who can win over people will become Bahubali.

“Congress has several musclemen. But, of them, one will emerge as a real Bahubali by getting people’s acceptance in the coming days,” the Congress veteran remarked.

He alleged that the state government was not taking steps to address the problems of people. “People are ready to revolt against the TRS government. Hence, Congress leaders should crisscross the state to highlight the sufferings of people. I have written a letter to TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy in this regard,” he said.

CPM state secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram, who had completed Mahajana Padayatra on Sunday, said social justice is actual Bahubali of the state. “Social justice is the real Bahubali. Political parties which can achieve social justice in the state will emerge as ultimate winners by winning over people’s hearts,” he commented.

Not to fall behind in the race to debate who is actual Bahubali of the State, TDP TS unit working president A Revanth Reddy said, “Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao will emerge as real ‘Bahubali’ in the coming days, by ditching Chief Minister KCR, who is adopting anti-people’s policies.”

Leaders of Left Parties too joined the debate. For instance, CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said the people of the state are the real ‘Bahubali’.

Speaking to reporters in Warangal, the CPI state secretary said, “Congress and TRS are forgetting that the real Bahubali are the people of the state, who would decide the fate of the two parties.”

“For us these two parties are ‘Kattappa’, who backstabbed Bahubali. Both these parties have been playing with the sentiments of the people. Time has come to teach a fitting lesson to the two parties.”
