Telangana Chief Secretary reviews Formation Day preparation

SP Singh held a review meeting at Secretariat on Saturday on the arrangements of State Formation Day.

HYDERABAD: One contingent from Haryana will participate in the State Formation Day parade to be held on June 2 at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. As part of the ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’ agreement signed between Telangana and Haryana, the Haryana contingent will be included in the parade, state government chief secretary SP Singh said at a review meeting held at Secretariat on Saturday on the arrangements of State Formation Day.

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will pay tributes to martyrs. After that, he will unveil the national flag at Parade Grounds on June 2. In the evening, cultural programmes will be organised at Peoples’ Plaza highlighting Telangana tradition and culture. 

A food festival with Telangana food items will also be arranged. Fruits and sweets will be distributed at orphanages, old age home and hospitals. 

All the important places in the city including High Court, secretariat, Charminar and other places will be illuminated on the occasion.
