HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday signed a file pertaining to payment of Pay Revision Commission (PRC) arrears to state government employees.

According to an official release from CMO on Monday, the state government decided to clear the pending Pay Revision Commission (PRC) dues to the tune of `3,000 crore. The decision would benefit three lakh employees and 2.5 lakh pensioners.

It may be recalled that when the state approved the PRC recommendations,  after the formation of Telangana state, Rao assured to pay PRC arrears to the state government employees. Normally, no government would pay PRC arrears and the revised salaries would be paid with prospective effect. But, due to some commitments, the government could not pay the arrears.

The payment of PRC arrears was not included in 2017-18 Budget. Now, the finance department has to make arrangements for payment or arrears to employees.
