TS-ECET re-exam for 130 students on June 4

For the 130 students whose Telangana Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS-ECET) was marred by technical glitches, the JNTU-H decision for re-exam has come as a sigh of relief.

HYDERABAD: For the 130 students whose Telangana Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS-ECET) was marred by technical glitches, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad’s (JNTU-H) decision to hold a re-examination has come as a sigh of relief. The students are expected to rewrite the exam which will be held from 10 am to 1 pm at JNTU-H College of Engineering on June 4.

While 91.79 per cent i.e 22,450 of the 24,458 candidates who had appeared for the exam had qualified the TS CET, several students alleged that their marks were affected due to technical glitches at few centres in the city.

“Since we had faced technical issues at the exam centre, on 15 May I went to the JNTU to complain about the same. I gave a representation but nothing came of it and results were announced on May 21,” said Ajay Reddy.

While most of the affected students could not make a cut as they secured less than 50 marks, the cut off, they are confident that this time they will score better.

“We are relieved that reexamination is being held. I was worried about my future academic prospects since I had not been able to qualify ECET,” said Swetha R, who secured 35 marks. Last date for registration for the reexamination by eligible students is 30 May. Students are not required to pay any registration fee.
