HYDERABAD: Three persons, including two students, were held by the Telangana Prohibition and Excise department at Malkajgiri on Sunday night for peddling LSD and MDMA.
This is the first LSD seizure after a relentless crackdown on the supply of drugs and narcotics in the city in July. To confirm if they were peddling the drugs or consuming, a decoy operation was conducted by the department's task force team.
Around 24 LSD blots and two MDMA tablets were seized from B Akshay (22), MSc Aeronautical Engineering student, I Shiva Shanker Reddy (23), B.Com third year and Md Arshad (25), a degree holder, were caught.
Most of the drug peddlers who had been caught in Hyderabad had used darknet to place orders. Their consignments shipped from European and Latin American countries were delivered to their homes through courier services. In case of the trio caught on Sunday night, they procured it from a person and sleuths are in search of him.
Novices in the trade, they started to sell the drugs from past 20-days. Most of their clientele are partygoers and people in their friends’ circle, officials from the department said.
