HYDERABAD: Even as the Global Entrepreneurship Summit-2017 will open in the next two days, preparations for the World Telugu Conference (WTC) have already begun.

The Telugu Mahasabhalu or WTC, a five-day conference to be held from December 15 to 19, is aimed at highlighting the Telangana literature and culture.  “While the literary and cultural greatness of Telangana was highlighted quite a bit during the Telangana movement, it is time we took it to the global level,” said Mamidi Harikrishna, director, department of language and culture.

Four venues are being decked for various programmes which include performance of folk arts, literary discussions, debates, seminars, along with theatre and cinema.

While LB Stadium will be the main venue, where the inaugural and the concluding ceremony will take place, there will also be special stalls on Telugu literature. At Ravindra Bharathi, the venue for programmes of music, dance, theatre and cinema, a mini secretariat to monitor and attend to the queries and requests of the delegates will be set up.

The other venues include NTR Auditorium in Potti Sriramulu Telugu University where literary discussions, seminars and debates will take place. The Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium at Nampally will be the centre for women-oriented activities and children’s festivals. Lalitha Kala Thoranam will be the hub for performing arts.
