HYDERABAD: Addressing the long-pending issues pertaining to teachers, the government has hiked the remuneration of the invigilators for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) by 50 per cent. With one of their major demands fulfilled as promised by Kadiyam Srihari, deputy chief minister, who also holds the education portfolio, teachers are now pinning their hopes that the government will be able to vacate the stay on unified service rules.

For past three years, government school teachers have neither received promotions nor had any transfers. According to the service rules, teachers have to be transferred every two years. But with the unified service rules pending in High Court, despite having 540 vacant Mandal Education Officer (MEO) posts, no teacher has been promoted to these posts.
